Good analogy because eventually faith will leave you splattered on the wall…..or because its equally as stupid as being shot from a cannon References :
I would say believing in self organization without empirical evidence is like being dropped on your head into a wishing well. Do you agree? References :
no faith is like letting crazy people tell you what to do.. and then doing it. like the son of sam.. and then defending the crazy crap you’ve been told to do… References :
No I do not agree. Faith comes by hearing the word of God. It is something that we have to have to see the truth. There are many who want to make a myth of God, or put God in their world and say "This does not make sense". They do not have faith and faith is the one thing that is required to enter heaven. Either you have it or you do not.
There is no blindfold here, my eyes are wide open and I see clearly. I enjoy my walk with God everyday.
I have never been shot out of a cannon though so cannot relate to that part of the questions. I would just stop it up for I have put on a few pounds. References :
No, it isn’t. When someone is shot out of a cannon, they go in the direction the cannon is facing. Wearing a blindfold does not change that, you just couldn’t see where you were going to land.
Faith is trusting in the creator of heaven and earth. Trusting the one who knew me before I was formed in my mother’s womb and will never take me where I will be harmed.
Taking this journey of life without God is like playing Russian Roulette with all the chambers loaded. References :
No, because when you are shot out of a cannon you are very unsure about the result. When you have faith you are 100% confident about how things will turn out. If you have never had faith you probably don’t know the feeling. EG. You have faith that the sun will rise tomorrow - u feel confident and secure in that. That’s what it’s like for people with religious faith - confident & secure References :
To a Christian, faith is more like a an eaglet free falling as it learns to fly, assured that its mother is just nearby ready to catch it with her wings, until it learns to freely soar on its own.
Christian faith is never blind. It’s not baseless. Christian faith is founded on solid rock; on the Rock himself: God the Creator and Sustainer of the universe.
As a Christian, I step into the life and world of Jesus Christ having the assurance that the God in whom I trust is trustworthy, not only because he is Almighty and Sovereign, but also because he is a God of love; a God who cares; a God who is mindful of me and everyone else; a God whose love never fails.
Here’s just one of his promises:
"I will never forget you, my people;
I have carved you in the palm of my hands.
I will never forsake you;
I will never leave you orphans;
I will never forget my own.
"Does a mother forget her own baby
Or a woman the child in her womb?
Yet even if these forget;
Yes, even if they forget;
I will never forget my own."
